App designer export to Excel

Hi, I'm trying to work with a third party to develop integration with Absence Management. As part of that, I'm trying to export information about records from App Designer, but can't find a way. App Designer won't let me copy/paste to a spreadsheet (or anything for that matter), print the field display, use display, etc to a PDF, or export the data in any easily usable format. Am I missing something or does this functionality not exist? If not, why does this functionality not exist? It's 2018 and I should be able to copy/paste from a grid format (like the
