DoModalS. Is it supported?

I've recently come across an undocumented function named DoModalS. I understand it is for internal use but...it allows us to open a modal window separately even when the system is configured to not allow that. This is useful in special cases. So my questions are:

1) If we use that, would it be supported?

2) Since its undocumented, do we run the risk of this function being yanked in the future without us knowing it?
