Backup not skipping read only data files

I am trying to optimize backups using read only tablespaces.  Our normal backup strategy is to perform weekend level 0 incrementals and weekday level 1.  Optimization is turned on as well as compression. The backups are scheduled via OEM.  Our database is organized in daily partition/tablespaces.  The older tablespaces are static.  I created a script that took a span of start and end dates.  First sqlplus is invoked to change all of the included tablespaces to read only.  Then rman is invoked to perform a level 0 incremental backup of just those tablespaces.  I then have been rescheduling an OEM
