I need help adding a field to journal print glx7501 BIP with xmldoc

My customer wants a field added to the journal print report glx7501 which uses xmldoc - I can easily add the field to the BIP report - but I don't understand how to get the added field to appear on my drop down list - how do I update the xmldoc piece of this and get the database field available to insert on the BIP report ?  Very new with BIP and I've only updated BIP reports that use query for the data source - any help would be appreciated
