When does the system automatically override the match exception on a voucher

Hi,

We had a voucher which went to match exception( on manually running AP_MATCH) but it got matched subsequently the next day. There is a batch process which runs daily twice ( consisting of voucher build, budget processor, AP_MATCH, Voucher posting) and I am wondering if that caused the voucher to be matched finally. As per PeopleBooks, if a match exception exists and the voucher is  within the tolerance, then the system automatically overrides the exception. Can you clarify with an example.
