Profile Option "AR: Allow Summary Table Refresh"

Hi

I'm trying to understand how the above profile option works in conjunction with the concurrent program "Refresh AR Transactions Summary Tables". I've read through Doc ID 1315993.1 and several other related notes.

I understand the profile needs to be set to Yes at application level before the program is run. When the program completes, the profile resets to No. Why is this? If we leave it at No, does this mean that the Workflow Business Events will not update the AR_TRX_BAL_SUMMARY table, or does this process work irrespective of this profile setting (as long as the Workflow Agent Listener is running)?
