Oracle SES Search box on banner page has gone missing

I'm attempting to use a Navigation Collection to get our AP and GL WorkCenters on separate Tabs on the main menu.  However, when I did this, the SES Search box on the banner is gone. 

I've checked the Portal > General Settings and the 'Display global search in header' is checked (it wasn't checked but then I checked it and saved).  What am I missing?
