How to transition to replacement for UserProfile Mass Creation?

Happy Happy Friday!

We are moving into PT8.56/CS9.2 in the near future.  We are currently PT8.55/CS9.0.

We've known now for years that User Profile Mass Creation is a deprecated solution.  No one has really had time to look for an alternate solution.

We are still running it for students, advisors, and instructors, multiple times per day.  Yes, I probably still have the docs from when we implemented back in 2000!

What (A/E?) are people using now, and is there any guide to help transition from the "old" way to a better "new" way?

p.s. I haven't been a programmer/developer for years, so if I need to get one of those people involved, it would be good to know.
