how to print chinese caharacters in pdf output?

We are using a custom report instead of PO Output for Communication.This is an rdf. We need to display mandarin characters  in the output for a chinese operating unit in the Terms and Conditions section

Apparently there are two text files with the Terms and conditions which are used to display T&C in the o/p.I replaced these with chinese character .txt files ,but the report came blank instead of printing these letters.

Could you please advise what could be done for this?We are not using xml report.It is completely an rdf. Please help
