OID/DIP 11.1.1.2 with AD 2008 R2

in Identity Management (MOSC) Question

Our current integration configuration is OID 11.1.1.2 with AD 2008. We are also using mod_osso from Oracle iAS 10g for authentication of EBS users. Our infrastructure team is planning to upgrade AD 2008 to AD 2008 R2. We don't have test environment. We know that AD 2008 R2 is supported only from 11.1.1.6. We would like for now stay on OID 11.1.1.2 and mod osso. How risky it will be to upgrade AD ?
