ReUse Statement in App Engine - any downside?

Hello.  Is there any downside to using the ReUse Statement in App Engine SQL steps?  I understand situations in which it can't be used - but for situations that it does work, is there any downside? 

I've used it on 2 very long running steps on 2 different processes, and both time the improvement in performance is staggering.  These are delivered processes so i'm wondering why would they not be delivered with it turned on?
