Open/Close Periods for GL for ledger group GRPRPT has only one trans type

We have a new BU that was set up and when I go into Open/Close Periods for GL for ledger group GRPRPT the only trans type that shows up is DEF.  Other BU's set up have many more trans types.  Can someone tell me how to get the other trans types to come into Open Period(s)?  We are only seeing the issue with one BU.
