How to Test XML Link Password Change

On a regular basis, we are required to change our Integration Broker PeopleSoft-based User ID and password for the AP node. 

After changing the password in User Profile, then we go to  PeopleTools > Web Profile > Web Profile Configuration  then select Prod instance and on the security tab enter the new password in the XML link box (lower right side of security page).  

The question I have is how do I validate that the XML link has the correct password in the form (don't see a Ping button) or where would I go to validate that the XML link is still working (e.g. message log or Integration Broker queue)   . . .  how do I know the places the XML link is used?  Prefer not to wait until someone says something isn't working.
