Page composer changes lost after application of change packages.

I am in FSCM9.2 and Peopletools 8.55. I added a new link on approval pages using page composer& developer registration pages, when change package was applied to the environment this page composer settings are lost. Does it mean every time we upgrade or apply change packages, we need to reapply this settings in Page composer. Has anyone encountered this problem?
