AP Check on PDF

Hello experts, 

We have implemented BI Publisher AP cheques ( FSCM 9.2 ) to replace Crystal report AP cheques. 

Our output is RTF and not PDF. 

We have gone live and is going well but some times have our MICR string is overlapping on itself on our cheque. 

And this problem is not consistent. 

Did some research and found that MS Word generating RTF is adding some strings "\hich\af43\dbch\af31505\loch\f43 " into the file the causing the MICR overlapping at the output printed

We are thinking of changing our Publisher cheque RTF output to PDF to avoid those problems. 
ANYONE OUT THERE CAN GIVE THOUGHT IF PDF WOULD HAVE BETTER CHANCE THAN RTF ?!
