Is there any delivered service operation for PeopleSoft to update user attributes in active director

I would like to know if there is a way for PeopleSoft application to make changes to user attributes in active directory in real time? Are there any service operations that can be activated. Are there any service operations that would be able to accomplish this?

I know that this can be achieved using business interlinks EO_DS_%, but I would prefer messaging.

Any help would be appreciated.
