PeopleSoft Journal ID assignment

How is the Journal ID assigned for accounting entries/journals? Does it eventually return to the first iteration?

For example, there are journals that starts with AAAA0000 and journal IDs will be created upto AAAA9999, will it go back to AAAA0000 regardless of the Business Unit?
