Page and Field Configurator in grid results of workbench in Account Reconciliation

I am running into problems getting changes I am applying to the Account Reconciliation workbench in the General Ledger module to occur. I can get the page and field configurator to modify search criteria fields but when I try and apply it to fields that are displayed in the search results, it doesn't appear to be working. I am trying to hide fields in the search results to make our end user experience similar without them having to personalize the page. I have selected the fields and selected the "hide" functionality but when I apply the configuration, nothing is changing
