Can Fluid be disabled in PeopleTools 8.56 as it can in 8.55?

We are currently using HCM/ELM 9.2 on PeopleTools 8.55 and are considering a move to PeopleTools 8.56 (or higher if possible.)   We are not ready for Fluid and currently have it disabled in most of our environments.

Will this still be possible if we move to a higher release of PeopleTools?
