Run ledger close mid year what does the specify date control? Extending Fiscal Calendar from 12 per

Hi All,

Our company is looking to extend its fiscal calendar out 6 additional periods going from 12 periods to 18 periods.  Currently FY end is July1 and we are moving to calendar year FYE so Jan 1 will become our new FY20, PD1.   They also want to perform year end close activities after period 12 (i.e. close our RE and roll balance sheet, i.e. run the ledger close).

To help test out my approach i am using data from one of our test databases that was refreshed with only 6 periods.  So to test my plan is run the close after pd3, and then after pd6 (Equivalent of running after pd12 and pd18 in production).  I tried running the Ledger Close job with a specify date that corresponds to the end of pd3, but the results in the ledger look like its picking up all periods populated with data p 1-6.  I just want the data up to pd3.
