Synchronizing CREF Permissions - PT8.56.14

We are in the process of upgrading our databases to PT8.56.14  We noticed the 'Synchronizing CREF Permission' step is taking more than 5 hours to run through Change Assistant. This is going to impact our Production weekend go-live time.   Is there any suggestions of making this run quicker ?   Is it doing more than we need it to do ?   Thank You for your reply and suggestions ahead of time.
