How do you delete a row out of state record in AE?

I have a AE that reads a file with a file layout and loads into a state record. If for example, there is no Birthdate in the file for an employee, I want to send that employee to a mailbox but STOP that row from moving forward.  I need to be able to remove it from the state record.  Does anyone know how to do this?
