updating JRE on PS_HOME of the application/Process server ?

We update the Java in web server as the part of Oracle/WebLogic CPU, but we never updated the JRE on PeopleSoft Application/process server PS_HOME folder, but we
apply frequently the People Tools patch , do you have to update the JRE whenever we apply the weblogic/Java patch?. in development all the web/app/process services
are running in one server, but in production, they are running in different servers. Thank you.
