Grid field resize issue

I have an AP user that was trying to use the double arrow "drag to resize" function on the AP voucher line distrib grid.  However when he tried to drag to the left (to make smaller) the field would only expand.  Appears that regardless of which way you try to drag to resize, it only makes the field larger.  I cannot find a way to reset the field length back to normal on the grid.  Has anyone else experienced this issue and were able to resolve?  We are on 9.2 Image 30 with PeopleTools 8.56.12.
