OIM deployment guidelines and restrictions

Hi,

I've been asked to look into OIM as a solution for securing access to our internal servers (Acmepedia). I have not yet found information related to deployment rules, guidelines, and / or restrictions.

I would appreciate it if someone would point me to this information or offer advice?
