Workflow timeout feature cancelling the current notification and other notification of escalations a

Hi ,

I have one requirement, if user is not responding for a notification within 2 days, we need to escalate to their manager. I am using timeout feature for the same. When time is out then it is cancelling current notification and it is closing manager's escalation mail also.  Please help me out for this.
