Need Upgrade Strategy HCM 9.1 TO 9.2 MSSQL 2008 to 2017

Need Upgrade Strategy HCM 9.1 TO 9.2 MSSQL 2008


Going from HCM 9.1/8.53 to 9.2/8.57 and we want to upgrade database to MSSQL 2017

I now realize that 8.53 is unsupported with MSSQL 2017 so I cannot upgrade the database first as I intended.
What would be the recommended way to do this?


Will I need a Tools upgrade first, 8.53-8.5??
Then the database upg 2008R2 - 2017
then the Tools and App upgrade 9.1/8.5?? - 9.2/8.57

If that is the path to the upgrade, what is the intermediate tools upgrade?


I will add that I have already built the upgrade source image on MSSQL 2017 database.  It has the PT patch to 8.57.08 and the RFU fixes have been applied to it, so I hope that I can use it as it is.
