Is there a way to retain the original timestamps of files from PIs?

I noticed a while back that files (ex. sqc/sqr) under the "home" directories are stamped with when I installed the PI.  One of my technicals asked today if there is a way for the timestamp to reflect when Oracle development last modified the files instead of when I install the image on our sever.  Is there a way to do this?
