Modal sub-pages no longer float over calling page

Hello, we recently upgraded from tools 8.56.5 to 8.57.10 (Financials 9.2 PUM 22 to 33).  Throughout the modules, many of our sub-pages that used to "float" over the calling page, are now displayed by replacing the entire browser page.  See screen shots below for an example.  Is this something we can configure or is this a new feature in the latest tools release?
