Fluid question - list grid and labels

I'm developing with Peopletools 8.57.  I'm creating a horizontal list grid.  I noticed there are no labels with the fields.  Is this how it's supposed to work?

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to get the labels to show on a horizontal grid?
