Page and Field Configurator - Fields Hidden on Fluid Expense Report Reappear

We are attempting to hide some fields on the Fluid Expense Report using Page and Field Configurator, but running into some issues. Whenever a user first comes into the report, the fields are correctly hidden. However, whenever a user selects an Expense Type, the fields hidden with PFC re-appear. Oddly, we are also using PFC to update the label of the Date field on the same page ("Date" > "Transaction Date"), but its PFC change remains active. I assume some PeopleCode event is firing whenever Expense Type is updated that is erasing my PFC configuration (or at least part of
