Flex grid question

I am fairly new to fluid and was wondering if there were any limitations to developing with flex grids.  I am interested in hiding a couple of flex grid columns and making the columns visible if another field value is changed.  I read there were rendering issues with flex grids.  Specifically if you hide the last column in a flex grid.
