PTF - Wildcards

Is there any way to use a wildcard within PTF if we do not care what the link literally says, but simply need to verify that the link exists? For instance, we have a subpage listing approvers for an Accounts Payable Voucher. There are various levels of approvers plus there could be multiple per level (pooled). Depending on the random chartfield string we pull into the script, the multiple approvers may just be one person changing the text from 'Multiple Approvers' to 'John Smith'.
