Oracle Retail lessons learned changing VAT on everything

This article is a summary of some lessons learned when making a VAT rate change and some hints on performance tuning RPM to deal with accompanying price changes in Oracle Retail. This is not a substitute for sufficient testing of your particular implementation prior to the active date of any VAT change announced or having skilled Oracle Retail resources to test and implement such changes.

The versions of Oracle Retail that were current the last time a VAT rate change took place would have been v13.0, v13.1 and v13.2 so it’s possible that later versions may have had changes – particular as a result of Brazil localisation – that have not been stress tested with the kind of volumes that change the retail price of every regular item in every store.
