IAM 12.2.1.4 with OUD or OID LDAP-Integration

We have tested enterprise-Deployment (new Installation, no upgrade) of Identity and Access Management Version 12.2.1.4 and integration of OID and OUD (Identity and Access) in our lab.

Due to the complexity of the OID product, we assume that the OID is only required for very large deployments. OID works fine, but the administrative effort looks higher than with oud.

Is oud supported in the long term or are there other arguments for an OID integration for envirmenments less then 2000 user-accounts or less then 100 it-ressources ?

Which LDAP directory do you recommend for a new installation of 12.2.1.4. ?
