Using Bar Code Scanners To Automate Immunization Data Entry into PeopleSoft

Hi guys.

I have been tasked with building a solution that will allow our hospital nurses to quickly track immunizations given within our organization.

I have found that I can pretty much build exactly what I need using Person Profile to track all of the details related to the immunization but the challenge is to automate the entry of that data so immunizations can take place rapidly when hundreds of folks are lined up to get their immunization.

One option I thought of was that we might be able to use some sort of smart bar code scanner or smart scanner software on an android/apple device to scan the immunization vile, employee badge and then that smart scanner could be trained to navigate to a PeopleSoft page and place the scanned results into destination fields.
