This tax registration number is already in use for party

Hi

We have multiple supplier sites for a supplier and all sites have the same registration number but for one site having different registration number then when we are trying to update with  the correct VAT Registration number on supplier site tax details, system throwing an error saying "This tax registration number is already in use for party type: Third Party and party name: XXXXX for the same period". please suggest the solution for this.
