Notifications count near the Bell Icon is not refreshed when a post is viewed

I see a count of notifications near the bell icon . I then click on it, see a post as listed there under those notifications. Even after reading the post or replying to that post, the notifications count remains same. I then go to another post listed there and reply as usual. The count remains same. Is this intended?
