rman not deleting backups

Hello

I consistently have a problem where backup files remain after RMAN deleted them. This is really problematic because the backup destination constantly fills up. It's also intermittent, but frequent.

Example:

RMAN deleted this file according to the logs.

Backup Set      6861  2020-11-01 20:37:19

 Backup Piece    6861  2020-11-01 20:37:19 \\LOVOEM133\ORACLEBACKUP\PROD_QKVEF2IG_1_1

However, this file remains on the disk.

Performing a crosscheck, this file is not listed as part of the backups.

Issuing delete obsolete, does not delete the backup.

This is a windows infrastructure, and standard network share. Performing a test backup succeeds 100% of the time.

There are no events logged on the destination server at the time file is supposed to be deleted.
