Adjustment Vs reversal Voucher

What exactly is the difference between Adjustment and Reversal vouchers.If I create a reversal voucher and then edit the Amount so that I am not reversing the entire Amount ( say actual voucher is of 200USD and reversal -100 USD) will this behave exactly like adjustment voucher?

Also why should the chartfields be editable in adjustment voucher and both chartfields and Amount editable in Reversal voucher(Atleast amount should be greyed out)?
