8.57.08 Data Mover client logging into 8.57.16 database

We have a case where the 8.57.08 Data Mover client cannot log into a PT 8.57.16 database. The error is simply "<database>: errors were reported. (0,553)" Typically, patch level differences between the client program and the database haven't prevented connecting. Can anyone point us to documentation regarding what patch was implemented during that time to cause the connections to behave differently?
