8.58.07 DoModalComponent StyleSheet inheritence

in PeopleTools and Lifecycle Management - PSFT (MOSC)

In 8.58.07, DoModalComponent causes the target component to inherit the original component's definitions.

For example, performing a DoModalComponent from Campus Solutions Student Center in classic mode will result in the Modal Component also in classic mode. When Student Center is 'Classic Plus' the Modal Component is also 'Classic Plus', even if component property is Classic.

How can the DoModalComponent format be overridden to default to it's component properties and not inherit the component source?

if this isn't possible wondering if anyone knows how to override doModalComponent to classic.

Please note - I am not trying to go from fluid to classic. I am trying to go from classic plus to classic. This worked in 8.56.14 and I am hoping there is a workaround.
