State1099-NEC filing required due to not being part of the IRS combined federal/state filing program

I am doing some research regarding states handling of the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC filings. I have found that with the 1099-MISC filings with the IRS, it is considered to be part of the combined federal/sate filing program, which allows us to only file misc. income to the IRS as the IRS will provide this information to the states.

However, in my research I have seen that for tax year 2020 and the new form 1099-NEC, this information needs to be reported directly to the state as it is not part of the combined federal/state filing program. I haven't researched a lot of states, but started with MO as that's where we reside.

Howdy, Stranger!
