A general question: How do I apply CPUs to PeopleSoft environment?

We are on PeopleSoft 9.2, PT 8.56. To apply the latest Critical Patch Updates for PeopleSoft, do I just need to download the latest PeopleTools patch DPK, apply the PT patch, and install/deploy the Weblogic and Tuxedo in the DPK? If so, how do I check and verify if certain CPUs are included in the latest PeopleTools patch DPK?

Or, do I have to use OPatch utility?
