Is there anyway to validate the application installation without having the database available ?

Is there anyway to validate the application without having the database available ?  we are installing a new environment and want to verify the configuration is done correctly and if it can be one without the data being available in the database?


How can we install multiple instances of the application on the app server, so app1, app2 etc..
