Why does the task field label cut short?

We have a request to utilize the TASK field on the Time Entry page (Time Details) but we need to change the label to Activity. When we do that on the TL_ELP_TIME_WRK.TL_HTMLAREA1.FieldFormula peoplecode the label changes but cuts off after 5 characters. So instead of Activity it reads Activ. Does anyone know how to change the label length on this page?
