'Return To Search' button issue

We are PeopleSoft 9.2, Tools: 8.57.08

We have an issue and a known issue to oracle: BUG 30213459 that when you have a Default Value for a Search Field when you select the Return to Search button the Value is Cleared/Blanked. This is causing an issue that it open up the search to all Employee records instead of just for the employee that is logged in to the system The bug fix says Released in Tools: 8.58. We are not upgrading to 8.58 for at least another year. Has anyone written PeopleCode for a SEARCHINIT for a Component that will allow the Default to be repopulated when the Return to Search is
