Security related questions about PeopleSoft File Attachment functionality

We currently have PeopleTools 8.57 and have our infrastructure on premise.

We are looking at moving files to an Oracle Database from our batch server using PeopleSoft PutAttachment functionality. We are wondering how the file is being transferred behind the scenes. Is file transferred using a secure method?

When the user looks at the file via View Attachment, is the file stored temporarily anywhere?

Is there any documentation that speaks to the security aspects of this functionality? The files we are transferring contain sensitive data.
