Virtual box PUM not accessible via URL after install without workaround

We have been using virtual box to install PUM images since 2016. In 2019, a problem began when we tried to log into the PUM image after install via the URL.

We receive the following message:

Your URL must contain domain ".localdomain"

If the error persists, please contact your System Administrator for assistance.

During the VB PUM install, the prompt for ‘Specifiy a hostname’ defaults to localhost.localdomain if left blank.

The workaround we’ve been using is below:

  • Log in to the VirtualBox PUM screen with the user "root" and the password you set.
  • Type "su - psadm2"
  • Type "cd /home/psadm2/psft/pt/……../peoplesoft/PORTAL.war/WEB-INF/"
