Standard_uom update in RMS V13.1

in Retail Merchandising System (MOSC) Question

Dear Experts,

Once the Item (level 2) is Approved in RMS, there is no way to update the standard_uom of the product. Is there any whitepaper/document supporting the impact of any backend update on standard_uom after Item Approval and with few months in active trade? and why it is not recommended as per the product design.
